In 2019 Gibson Index undertook major projects for BEIS, the UK Dept of Trade, and for the Society of Chemical Industry. The company also was commissioned by Oxford-based Bite-Sized Books to research and write two books: The UKs top 12 Most High Potential Companies, and secondly, The 12 Features of an Enduringly Successful Company.
Clients include corporations such as QinetiQ plc, Shell UK and Procter & Gamble, UK Government Departments such as BIS, Queen's Awards for Enterprise Office, One NorthEast, elite member organizations such as the Institute of Physics and the Royal Academy of Engineering, and 12 British Universities (UCL, Birmingham, Greenwich, etc). In 2017 we are actively expanding our client base into the FE college and UTC sectors  some of which have SME networks that are much greater than those of even the largest Universities.

Between 2015-2017 Gibson Index has undertaken SME scoping studies for Metro Bank plc, for the Corporation of the City of London, Lloyds Development Capital, etc.

In 2014 BP Technology Centre commissioned Gibson Index to research, locate and assess more than 300 small companies that may in future be significant.

In 2013 Gibson Index found 36 companies of interest to a German investment house that was undertaking M&A activity in the UK, and as a result, two British firms whose owners were on the point of retirement sold their businesses to investors.

In 2012, eight days before the London Olympic Games we were commissioned by UKTI to contact 3,000 UK SMEs and persuade them to attend British Business Embassy events in London  we succeeded.

In 2010 we completed a survey of British telecoms and photonics firms for defence contractor QinetiQ plc - pinpointing 258 high quality engineering firms in the UK.
